It only affects how responses are grouped in your own analytics; it never decides who gets asked for a review.
How does a survey response turn into a Google review?
For platforms like Google, TripAdvisor, G2, and Capterra, a respondent who opts in gets emailed a direct link to leave a review there — those platforms don't allow automated posting, so the customer still writes it themselves. Facebook and Trustpilot support direct posting when connected.

Can I send review requests to Yelp?
